We first dug up a thin trench along the foundation walls where the WaterGuard would sit.
Once the WaterGuard was installed, we covered up the trenches which all lead out to our Sump Pump System which pumps the water from the drains out of the house.
To create a smooth, even floor in the basement that would potentially be finished, we covered the WaterGuard back up with a smooth layer of cement.
In order to fully waterproof your basement, the drain should be installed along the entire perimeter of the basement as we did here.
Now that the customer has the entire perimeter of the basement lined with WaterGuard and hooked up to the Sump Pump, the basement will stay dry all of the time.
This older Teulon basement was damp, leaking and unsuitable for a new rec room or bedroom. We installed WaterGuard underneath the basement floor, just inside the foundation walls. The hidden drainage system brings water to a sump pit, where a sump pump automatically pumps it outside. Also known as a French Drain, this system is not prone to clogging; it’s reliable and easy to service. We were able to turn this old, damp basement into dry potential living space.
